Last fall, Women In Distress received a capital grant of more than $939,000 from the Department of Children and Families to assist in the renovations of the new property. Other major supporters to date include the law firm of Rothstein Rosenfeldt and Adler, James A. Cummings and Cornerstone Construction and the IBI Group, architects and planners.
A capital campaign will be launched to support renovations, to support increased operating expenses associated with a 40% increase in shelter, and to support increased reserves and endowment.
